School Days!

Tomorrow is Elizabeth’s first day of high school, and she is SOOOO excited!  Since she is attending a virtual school, it occurred to me that we didn’t have to purchase school supplies for the first time in about 15 years.  The school sent us some biology supplies, books, and a headset for her computer, but otherwise it will all take place online.  Her lessons will include Christian living in the West household first thing in the morning, then her schedule of public classes will follow:  Art Appreciation, Biology, English, French, Geography and Society, Geometry, and P.E., not necessarily in that order.  For her first day of school, we plan to work from Panera Bread.  We love the flexibility!

Art Appreciation will likely be one of her favorite subjects, but when I asked her to pick her favorite she replied, “I can’t decide. I’ve got too many.”  That warms a mother’s heart!  She has novels to read for English, and she is really looking forward to learning French.  Her P.E. goal is to start running with her Dad in the evenings for credit, and to train for track.  Geography will include some three-dimensional lessons on the road.  We will keep you posted on her progress in this milieu we call “road schooling.”
