Waking up to the choice between a cold shower (our hot water is not currently working in the RV) and walking to the bath house in 40 degree weather, as well as experiencing a blown breaker mid-way through drying my hair, served as yet another nudge toward moving into a house. We all opted for the bath house, and while we did finally find a plug that worked, this did not steer us from our mission to move.
We found a house, and we have come to an agreement with the Landlord. She is going to replace the carpet, and our prayer is that it will happen this week. We would like to move in next weekend before I start chemo. We considered purchasing, but that would take some time (and 20% down). Renting won the poll of our friends as well.
It’s a small, three bedroom, in a nice neighborhood called Bentwater, in an exemplary school district (Montgomery). I love the old town of Montgomery, and I enjoy visiting the park behind the library in the spring (bluebonnets blossom there by the hundreds). The vintage tea room is also located in the historic district, and our realtor just purchased an old dilapidated building, with plans to turn it into a beautiful historic front. She lives near our new home and has already discussed the possibility of a babysitting job for our teen. Her daughter just turned one and she is a doll!
At this writing we are watching the Dallas Cowboys play the Redskins. This could be their last game of the season as they are currently behind, but Tim does not give up hope that the ‘Boys will make it to the Superbowl.
We have one more day of this year. My how fast 2012 has come and gone, and how it has changed our perspective! You never know when you start each January just what the year will bring. We went to church in Conroe this morning where Tim preached a message on resolving to relentlessly pursue Christ, rather than making the typical New Year’s Resolutions. This is our first resolve! In addition, we celebrated the 67th wedding anniversary of a former pastor in their church (Ray and Jean Stevenson). He proposed on their second date and they have been together ever since. What a testimony! Our second resolve is to stay connected to each other as a couple and as a family. We will to follow this example in hopes of a long and prosperous marriage. Have a Happy 2013 everyone!
Glad to hear news on house!
