Tim has been gone for the past few days to an Elevate conference, returning this evening. (Elevate is where pastors from all over the state come together to learn and worship.) He came home bearing a large gift bag that contained a special gift from a pastor’s wife. She lovingly made a blanket to remind me that cancer is powerless in so many ways. The colors are beautiful as are the sayings woven throughout the quilted pattern. Tears came to my eyes as I read them.

Cancer cannot silence courage,
Cancer cannot shatter hope,
Cancer cannot cripple love,
Cancer cannot kill friendship,
Cancer cannot stifle laughter,
Cancer cannot invade the soul,
Cancer cannot steal humor,
Cancer cannot erase memories,
Cancer cannot destroy peace,
Cancer cannot erode confidence.
