A Big Thank You

Dear Friends,

As we are moving toward the Thanksgiving season, I wanted to take a moment and express my sincerest appreciation for your ongoing prayers throughout this year’s cancer journey. Without you, my faith would have surely slipped. At times when prayer was difficult to fall from my lips, you uttered a prayer on my behalf. When you felt the urge, it was surely the very moment I needed your prayer support.

People from all over the world have flooded our mailbox, Facebook account, email, voice mail, and home visits with service and words of encouragement.  Beautiful cards and precious homemade gifts have been a constant reminder that you are thinking of us, and genuinely concerned about our well-being. Tim has heard the question, “How’s Cindy?” on many occasions as he has traveled the state doing his job.  This has been a blessing to know that you, even those who have never met me, continue to pray and lift our family up to the Almighty Healer on a daily basis.

He has provided us a great cloud of witnesses, a band of prayer warriors, and an army of soldiers fighting the invisible battle by our side. While I have not returned the favor with a “thank you” for each individual act of kindness, I want you to know I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you!

Psalm 116:1 (ESV) says, “I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.”

I like the New Living Translation as we read further (Psalm 116:1-7). It says, “I love the LORD because he hears and answers my prayers. Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I have breath! Death had its hands around my throat; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the LORD: “Please, LORD, save me!” How kind the LORD is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours! The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and then he saved me. Now I can rest again, for the LORD has been so good to me. He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.”

The Lord has heard our cries, and has answered our prayers. I am a survivor. My doctors say I am cured. They truly believe the cancer is gone. So we rejoice together! Continued prayers are appreciated to prevent this horrible disease from returning. Praise the Lord for answered prayers. Now I can rest again, yet I will not become complacent. God is not finished with me yet!

Once again, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

Your Sister in Christ,

Cindy

Thanks Bob and Patty! Well, Tim is Tim. 🙂 Seriously, this has been a shared journey of course. He has been my chemo buddy, my surgery buddy, and my riding buddy on the way to radiation, and my Touring Buddy on our Victory Tour. Did you see the pictures of Rob and Dawn on the Tour?
