Concilio and San Antonio

What a weekend!

We spent all day Saturday at the Hispanic Concilio, which is family camp for our Latino friends. What a day! Tim spoke (with the aid of an interpreter) messages about Paul and Timothy, the father and son, mentor and mentee. Vibrant praise and worship filled the tabernacle, and refreshment came both spiritually as well as physically (great Mexican food was prepared for our lunch).

Cindy lost her voice a few days ago, so singing was a non-event, even if we could keep up with the tongue-twisting Spanish. While the family was enjoying silence at home, this was especially challenging on Sunday where she agreed to lead worship in San Antonio. They have recently lost their music leader, so the fill-in was timely. But laryngitis was not so timely. Tim stepped in and sang along with Lorenzo, while Cindy played and smiled from the keyboard. Fortunately the congregation joined in, with beautiful praise and worship unto the Lord. Margaret Kirby was installed as Associate Pastor, ceremony led by Tim as well.

Sunday afternoon was spent driving back to Nacogdoches to our Fifth Wheel home, via Conroe where we finally picked up our little dog. She has been spending the past few weeks with our friends, her surrogate grandparents, while we traveled north to Minnesota and back. They love her and spoiled her like any good grandparent would, further evidenced by the additional 3.5 pounds noted on the scale. Elizabeth was thrilled to finally have her back, and we saw a smile on Midge's face as we pulled into our home. Travel away from our little home was good for a few days, but we are glad to be back.

This week we will continue to meet with pastors and families in Nac, then on to Lake Conroe with Fifth Wheel in tow on Friday.
