This is the Air We Breathe

BryanDrums“Breathing is a symbol of our connection with God,” said the wise Pastor West.  He must have a very strong connection, because he was long-winded this morning.  Seriously, it was an excellent sermon about how life is mysterious, life matters, and life is marvelous.  It was also such a blessing to see our son playing the drums.  He has been working nights, so he was drumming on four hours of sleep.  Yet he didn’t miss a beat.

Breathe in.  Exhale.  Inhale.  Breathe out.  Inhaling and exhaling are akin to communication.  We listen, and we self-disclose.  Listen to the voices of those around you.  Disclose when appropriate, but really take time to listen and you may be amazed at what you discover.

Lunch was a special treat.  Sarge and Helen are a very interesting Assyrian couple, with many stories to share about life, war, love, culture, and God’s miracle working power throughout all circumstances.  Our daughter admitted, “I usually get bored when we go to lunch with people, but your stories are really interesting!”  We were all glued to our seats as we listened and shared a meal together.  A discovery of a wonderful couple, and God’s tremendous mystery!

It’s been a good day.
