Warding off Dracula

I was reminded today by my humorous husband that I don’t have to worry about vampires.  One sniff of my chemo-infused blood would scare them off in a heartbeat.  Can you envision it?  One vampire says to the other, “Stay away from the bald ones – they taste horrible!”  (insert rimshot)

Yes, we are back on track.

My white blood count is back to normal.  It is not just normal enough for treatment, but normal for anyone.  God is good and once again evidence of prayers answered.  I didn’t get sick, and I’m ready for treatment.  Apparently, once they start, white blood cells reproduce rather quickly.  Our bodies are pretty amazing when you think about it.  Our blood comes equipped with millions of microscopic body guards, that when killed off are capable of reproducing more body guards to prevent or heal our sickness.

At any rate, I’m sitting in room number eight with my feet raised, eating honey grahams and waiting for my newest nurse Tracey to get my FEC from the pharmacy.  They mix the drugs right here on premises while we wait, just in case they have to change the content or concentration due to weight changes or bloodwork.  I will be asleep almost as soon as she starts the drip, so this will be a short blog.

I’m taking the rest of the day off, as well as tomorrow.  Monday is a holiday so I get a nice long weekend.  Yeah!!  Work is work, and it can wait.  I’ve learned to put things into perspective.  Don’t overdo it!  Listen to your body.  Rest.  Breathe.  We are moving our furniture into our new house tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to the time off to organize my new home and…zzzzzzzz.
