The Three Rs – Reading, Riding, and Rhyth-matic

It has been almost a year since our two week bike trip to Canada and back.  We collected so many points last year we might have won the national HOG contest – if we had taken the time to send in our pictures!  Suffice it to say, we had a few other things on our mind in December.    All we really wanted was our patch, but the deadline passed and we missed our opportunity.  Maybe a letter to Harley Davidson will grant our wish.

At any rate, we have missed riding.  We have missed scouting for ABCs while feeling the cool breeze on our face, and the rhythmic time together spent on the bike.  So, this morning we decided to get back in the saddle and collect some points.  We only stayed on the road for about two hours to prevent throwing caution to the wind.

Our new bike. Same color, different model.

We love riding through the forest this time of year!
This is our new bike. Same color, different model.

It was a picture perfect riding day, and we collected nine points in that time!  Four cities, four counties, and one National Forest.  It was a great day!

Here’s the takeaway – don’t let cancer stop you from doing the things you really love.  Even with low blood counts, I have not stopped living life to the fullest.  John 10:10 reminds me of this!  I may enjoy a few more naps, and I am much more aware of the shoes I wear, the things I touch, and the water I drink.  Nevertheless, I do not live in isolation.
