Lone Star Weekend

Camp Meeting, Church Camp, Family Camp, and Lone Star Weekend are some of the names attributed to this annual event. Some have said it's a thing of the past. Just about the time one may be tempted to think this, God moves.

Elizabeth with the children.

The Lone Star Rally was an opportunity to serve and to be filled. Cindy led worship on two occasions, and Elizabeth helped out with the children. The music, the messages, and the mood throughout the weekend were uplifting and inspirational. Pastors Darius, Ken, Don and Gil preached the Word with all their hearts. Others shared in devotions and times of teaching. On Saturday, hymns were sung from the good ole' days, and as we wound down the weekend on Sunday morning, hearts were full and minds were content.

Finally cool enough to enjoy the outdoors!

We moved our RV to Nacogdoches, home for the next few weeks. After surveying Camp Powers we feared the turns or fitting into the allotted spot. Our rig is BIG! And it drags on the smallest incline. Alternatively, a “nice” RV park sits a few miles out of town, in the middle of a forest of trees. No light pollution to drown out the stars, and it is very quiet there. Fast and free internet is a blessing as well!
