It started out quite cold this morning, again. But at least the skies were blue! Our trip took us from Leominster, Massachusetts where we have stayed for two nights. We rode through Vermont, and on to our hotel in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. We have been blessed with some great deals in hotels. The Residence Inn in Williamsport has just been renovated, and she gave us an excellent rate which included dinner and breakfast. And they were having steak for dinner. Yum!
My favorite road of the day (and I believe it was Tim’s favorite as well) was the scenic route (6) through Vermont. This took us on a pleasant ride through the Green Mountain National Forest, from the east to west side of Vermont. Colorful trees, scenic overlooks, and small towns with large New England homes made the time pass quickly. Even their welcome center is photogenic.
At the entrance to the scenic route lies the Creamery covered bridge. I took a walk around to view it from all angles. This pictures are on my Nikon, which I cannot upload until I get home (or access to a computer). So those will have to be inserted a little later. The New England states have such rich history dating back to the 18th century.
